Whether you live in the Pacific Northwest or fly into Seattle, you need a car to get around Olympic National Park. Therefore, I recommend visiting Olympic National Park in late  May through June and September through October. These months are considered shoulder seasons, so there are fewer crowds and decent accommodation rates .

The trail is level and flat leaving the park in both directions. Nestled in a coastal forest, Mora Campground is located along the western coast of Olympic National Park and is near the Quillayute River. While no campsites provide a view of the river, a few sites are a small walk away from the riverbank. Surrounded by thick coastal forest, Mora Campground provides a quiet camping experience among large and mossy trees.
So, while they’re fun to visit, we wouldn’t recommend staying in one of them. The most convenient place to stay for Lake Crescent and Hurricane Ridge is either Port  Angeles or around Lake Sutherland . In Port Angeles, stay at the Olympic Lodge, which is the best option in town. Around Lake Sutherland, go with either the Emerald Valley Inn (we’ve camped there, but they have great hotel-style rooms too) or a cabin on the shores of Lake Sutherland.

This post will go clockwise from Quinault Lake to Lake Cushman and the two cities, Forks and Port Angeles, will be last. First of all, apologies I only have 1 photo of that evening. As it was a company dinner, it would have been awkward for me to take photos of every dish. I ordered the salmon for the main and it was very delicious. The salmon was not dry at all and the vegetables that came along with the dish went hand in hand with the salmon. If you're anywhere remotely close on a bike, this IS the place to go. The forested slopes of Olympic National Park provide a scenic backdrop across Lake Quinault. The hike to Marymere Falls by way of the Barnes Creek trail, is a favorite, as is the Spruce Railroad trail that runs along the north shore. The Hoh Area is characterized by its gorgeous rainforest, which is carpeted by a lush green covering of moss and deciduous plants. The appeal of visiting the Hoh Area is obvious; it’s one of the most unique places to stay in the Olympic Park area and has a certain blissful solitude when you explore.

Hall Baetz, a strong advocate for the Olympic Discovery Trail, will be commemorated by naming a viewpoint in his honor. Before his death Hall worked tirelessly to help plan and orchestrate a safe trail link along the east side of Discovery Bay. As progress dictated, by 1931 rail passenger service had been eclipsed by the automobile and was discontinued. The rail lines were operated then by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, and were used solely for freight and timber hauling. The segments run between Siebert Creek and Sequim, and between Morse Creek and Gasman Road. The Siebert Creek pedestrian bridge, purchased salvage, was installed.
Literally, only 2 of us as the customers at that time, I couldn't understand why table service at that time would be an issue. Then we ordered a bento, we would like to swap coke or water to hot tea and happy to pay extra 50c, but again we were rejected, as "it is included and cannot be swapped". If that's their policy, we respect, but honestly it's not flexible and it made us disappointed. Rialto Beach is one of the most easily accessible beaches in Olympic National Park with a short 165-feet / 50-meter access trail right off of the parking lot. It’s a great stop to include on a road trip around the Olympic Peninsula or a traditional vacation in the area.
