In this hands-on beginners course, you'll learn how to confidently navigate Procreate's intuitive tools while developing practical digital art skills. Using your Apple Pencil and iPad, you'll explore sketching, drawing, colouring, shading, layering, and special effects, building the knowledge needed to bring your creative ideas to life.
Artists often use sensors, cameras, projectors, and other digital tools to create interactive experiences that respond to the viewer’s actions. Augmented reality and virtual reality technologies have also become popular tools for artists looking to push the boundaries of traditional art forms. Interactive sculptures often invite viewers to touch, move, or manipulate the artwork in some way, creating a tactile and immersive experience. Interactive projections use light and sound to create dynamic and engaging visuals that respond to the viewer’s movements. A powerful video installation, Once Again… (Statues Never Die) unfolds across five screens in black-and-white. Telling the story of art collector Albert C Barnes, and Alain Locke, a cultural leader and key figure in the Harlem Renaissance, the 30-minute film features actors André Holland, Danny Huston, Sharlene Whyte, and Devon Terrell. If you've mostly experienced digital art museums that focus on transforming famous works of art into 360-degree paintings, Artechouse will flip your notion of an immersive art museum on its head. Interactive entertainment is taking over in 2025, with quirky photo booths, karaoke machines, and custom party games leading the charge. Balancing technological innovation with artistic integrity, ensuring equitable access, and fostering meaningful engagement will be crucial in shaping the future of art. One of the notable leaders in technological innovation is the artist group called teamLab, hailing from Japan and represented by Pace Gallery since 2014. This is an interdisciplinary collective that blends art, science, technology, and the natural world through the collaborative efforts of artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects. The collective's mission is to explore new perceptions of the relationship between the self and the world, encouraging a view of life as a continuous, borderless existence.

The interactive project at the Getty Center in Los Angeles will take place July 8, 11–16, 2023, from 10.30am to 3pm.
