MotorhomesMotorhomes are the ultimate tiny house on wheels and ideal for packing up and exploring. Motorhomes are larger recreational vehicles with room to move inside. They are usually fully self-contained with all facilities that you need including kitchen, toilet, shower, sleeping and dining areas. Motorhomes usually provide sleeping berths for two to six people, sometimes maximising the space above the cab or front seat/driving area as an extra bed. The layout within motorhomes provides for recreation and relaxation.

Volkswagen still manufactures vans suitable for camping today. Ford, Mazda, Mercedes, and Toyota campervans are often seen on the road.
High-top models and pop-up or flip-top roofs are popular campervans for the extra headroom. This is particularly important for slide on campers on dual cab utes, where the tray sits typically right above or just in front of the rear axle. In Australia the majority of utes are European or Japanese brands, which are smaller than American vehicles, providing limited space in a tub. The tray-style camper is usually called a slide on, referring to the action of sliding the camper onto the flat-bed platform.  They now account for a small but significant market share of the caravan and camping industry Australia-wide. They often appeal to those who want to avoid towing or go to really remote locations. A trailer can have extra axles, wheels, tires, brakes, and suspension that can substantially increase your risk of equipment failure.
