After nightfall, the  entire bridge body emits colorful and magnificent lights. It feels romantic to walk along the glowing Rainbow Bridge. There is a light sculpture performance at 8 o’clock in the evening, and another at 9 o’clock with unique music, showcasing the cultural atmosphere of Taitung. If the time is correct, and the weather is good, you can even admire the beautiful moonlit sea.

You’ll find surf shops and schools scattered throughout the area, offering lessons and rentals for all levels of experience. Assuming you've traveled down Taiwan's East Coast after traveling from Taipei to Hualien, you can continue clockwise around the island to Kenting.
Besides the train-related attractions, you’ll find various artworks on display throughout the grounds. Next to the train line, Tiehua Music Village (鐵花村音樂聚落慢市集) is the focal point of the grounds, where live musical performances take place nightly (5-10 p.m.) from Wednesday to Sunday. Many of the performers are aboriginal, but the vibe is definitely more hip and modern than traditional.

A bridge with a series of arches leads from the coast to a small offshore island. In 2024, Sanxiantai finally reopened after undergoing renovations and being closed for over a year. Luye (鹿野) is the third and final town that I recommend stopping or spending the night in. The word “town” might be a stretch – there’s almost nothing here besides farms. But if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s a great place for cycling.
If you want to watch the train passing by, need to have luck and don’t trust the train schedule post outside the station. Be careful traversing on the rocks around to the lighthouse. The view is also great, you can totally spend some time sitting on the stone beach and watch the sea. This is well connected to Taitung by public transportation and it will take 2 hours bus drive from Taitung. There is a restroom, a few shops with restaurants, and visitor information centers at the entrance. It is three hours long trial that starts with the opening of ocean bays and a connecting bridge between the mainland and islands. On the island, it is two hours trails and the island is made up of volcanic rocks. Good shoes are recommended along with skin protection cream.
